Will you buy my items directly?
The general answer is no! The price we could offer you would be considerably lower than what your item is worth - we are a business and need to make money but we don't want to be unfair to anyone!
We will always welcome enquiries though and if the collection is right and the price is right (for both of us) then we may make an exception!
Do you take a commission?
Yes. We handle everything for you from initial collection (where applicable), pricing, photography, listing, enquiries, packaging, postage and any customer service enquiries throughout.
So, we feel that our standard commission rate of 35% is fair for what we do.
There is one exception to this, used Lego...
When we receive pre-loved Lego, we will go through each part to ensure the set is complete. Build it, photograph it and then disassemble it ready for sale. We charge 50% for this service due to the work involved.
Why can't I get an instant valuation online?
Put very simply, each item is unique in it's own way and we would hate to under/over value anything.
Alongside this, we want to ensure that the items we list on our website are the highest quality and the buyer knows exactly what they are getting. The vast majority of our items are PRE-LOVED so we think this is just fair!
And if that wasn't reason enough, here is an example I found only a short time ago:
"I was looking at quite a rare and valuable collectible online and researching its history, heritage and current market value. I found that the best estimate for this item was between £150-£180. So, I thought id test the 'We-buy-any-stuff' type websites and the best valuation I got was £44.10! One site (shall remain nameless) offered me just 10 pence! That is why we think we need to see, test and inspect EVERY item that comes to us (even if we've bought it ourselves!)"
How does the online account work?
Our Seller's Portal provides you with all of the information you need!
From viewing & accepting our estimates, seeing your balance and transaction history to how to spend / redeem your points!
Plus, we have our Sellers' VIP Scheme which means the more you sell with us, the more benefits you receive, including reduced commission rates!
How do I get my money?
Everything is handled via your Seller's Portal.
Any accrued points can be converted to vouchers to spend on our website or these can be cashed out into your bank or PayPal account.
Can I see the Seller's Terms & Conditons?
Of course!
At Trilogy Toys, we are nothing but transparent so all of the important Terms and Conditions can be found here.
How do we 'grade' your items?
We will check, test and inspect each item that comes into us to make sure that we are providing the buyer the very highest quality items at the very best prices. Also to ensure that we are providing our Seller's with the most accurate valuation.
To do this, we have our own 'grading' system which is detailed as follows:
Books
NEW - Brand new, un-read books in the same condition as you would find in any retail outlet
VERY GOOD - Almost new with no damage, dog-eared pages, marks and very minimal signs of previous use.
GOOD - Undamaged, spine in tact but shows signs of previous love such as folded/dog eared pages and/or minor marks.
FAIR - Spine in tact but shows signs of previous love such as folded/dog earded pages, marks (including a dedication) but in a readable conditon and too early for the recycling bin!
Toys, Games & Everything Else
NEW - Brand new and in the same condition as you would find in any retail outlet
VERY GOOD - Not quite new, but in excellect condition and 'gift-worthy'! This may include items that are in fact new, but the outer packaging might be showing signs of age/slight damage
GOOD - Clean, tidy, fully working (if applicable) and has lots of life and love left to give!
FAIR - Showing it's age a bit or an item that is still too good for the tip!
PART(S) MISSING - You may find this alongside one of the other GRADES above. It just means that this item is missing (or has substituted) parts that differ from the original retail packaging when new. This is always stated in the description and (in our opinion) doesn't make the item any less valuable or useable!
We may sometimes refer to an item as UNSALEABLE. These are (in our opinion) not suitable for sale and therefore will not be added to our website. Explanations as to why will be found on your estimate/valuation document
